Dads’ Group
Dr. Colton Shannon and Bryan Barley are pleased to announce the Voice of the Heart Center's first offering of "Parenting with Heart" Online Groups for Dads.
Join like-minded dads to strengthen your ability to thrive in your most significant life calling of raising your sons and daughters. Emphases include:
- Learning how to live and lead with heart
- Breaking destructive generational cycles and behaviors to give your children an experience better than you received
- Living presently in a way that you leave a beautiful future legacy
Who is this for?
Dads with kids of any age who want to engage with their own life story as a way to be more emotionally and spiritually available at home.

Duration: 12 sessions each 50 minutes in length.
Price: $50/session (please let us know if cost stands in your way)
Format: Includes feelings check-ins, discussion guided by our clinical work and Parenting with Heart by Chip Dodd and Stephen James, and times of teaching.
Colton Shannon
Ph.D., LPC-
MHSP
Dr. Shannon holds a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University. His research there was in stress, burnout, and social support. He is a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee.
His family enjoys living in Murfreesboro. He is married with three children. He enjoys studying, camping, hiking, skiing, fishing, and watching his kids play sports.
Bryan Barley
M.Div.
Bryan has spent the majority of his professional career starting new ventures in highly challenging contexts, and championing those who are willing to do the same. He and his family have spent over a decade in the heart of urban Denver, CO, where they started a church and catalyzed many others to start churches, businesses, non-profits, and more during that time. He is passionate about helping people do hard things in a healthy way.
In 2023, he and his family relocated to Nashville, largely as the overflow of a desire to work more closely with Dr. Chip Dodd, and help found The Voice of the Heart Center. He also currently co-founded a start-up called A Generous Company with NBA Veteran, Mason Plumlee, and regularly speaks and preaches at churches across the country.
